The elastic sprung rubber buffer blocks for suspending the discs, not only ensure optimum contour following, but also act as overload safety protection on each individual disc. The large-dimensioned sprung rubber buffer blocks are maintenance-free and feature a long spring deflection that provides you with peace of mind, even in stony ground.

The Catros, Catros⁺ and Catros^XL discs are mounted especially aggressively with an angle of 17° for the front row of discs and 14° for the rear row of discs. This ensures a smooth transfer of the soil-straw mixture from the first to the second row of discs and results in first-class mixing of soil and plant material. Compared with flat angled discs, the discharge angle in this aggressive disc arrangement is noticeably smaller. In this way, the moved soil-straw mixture is redeposited on the soil surface well ahead of the rear roller.

Outstandingly low fuel consumption

Working speeds from 12 km/h to 18 km/h are not a problem with the Catros compact disc harrows. This enables you to achieve incredibly high work rates and keeps the working time down to a minimum. However, the fuel, wear and tear and repair costs are also key factors for profitable farming. AMAZONE has been carrying out trials in collaboration with the DLG test centre in Groß-Umstadt for several years, in order to reliable determine figures for these costs.

The Catros compact disc harrows proved be extremely fuel-efficient in all trials. For example, a fuel requirement of only around 4 l/ha was determined in stubble cultivation with an average working depth of 6 cm depending on the soil type and ground topography. The consumption values for seedbed preparation were similar.

The Catros Special mounted disc harrow offers price-conscious farmers a suitable solution thanks to its simple design and working widths of 2.5 m to 4 m. All the basic settings can be made mechanically, quickly and easily, by means of the well thought-out concept. The working depth is adjusted by simply and quickly swiveling spacers in and out.

Thanks to the folding side discs, the Catros Special can be quickly changed from the working position to the transport position from working widths of 3 m. This means that the effective working width is always achieved during operation. In addition, they are adjustable and guarantee a very even matching up to the next bout.
