Pure efficiency – the Catros+ 12003-2TS

Higher output! The flagship in 39 ft (12 m)

The Catros+ 12003-2TS compact disc harrow is ideal for shallow tillage and tillage with thorough mixing at working depths of 0.75 to 5.5 in (2 to 14 cm). Despite its large working width of 39 ft (12 m), its extremely low pulling power requirement makes it possible to combine very high speeds high acreage outputs. Low fuel consumption also makes it extremely economical to operate.

Easy adjustment

The working depth can be quickly and easily adjusted at just one point per disc segment. Each section is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder, where the range of travel of the piston rod is limited by spacers that swivel in and out. Here, the front and the rear disc rows adjust themselves automatically. In-cab hydraulic working depth adjustment is also available.

The working width can also be temporarily reduced to 23 ft (7 m) to improve penetration in very hard soils, e.g. on the headland.

High performance even during transportation

The machine features a compact design despite its large working width of 39 ft (12 m). The Catros+ 12003-2TS can be folded down to a transportation width of 9.8 ft (3 m) and a height of 13 ft (4 m) for road transportation.

With greater convenience!

The integrated swing compensation on the drawbar of the Catros+ 12003-2TS is extremely practical. If necessary, it can be switched on, enabling effective reduction of machine pitching or jumping. The oversized 700/50-26.5 running gear wheels give the machine excellent handling behavior on the road. For maximum convenience, AMAZONE offers an electrically-operated central lubrication system as an option.

Exceptionally low fuel consumption

Working speeds from 6 to 11 mph (10 to 18 km/h) are easily achieved with the Catros and Certos compact disc harrows. This enables you to achieve incredibly high productivity rates and keep operating time down to a minimum. Keeping fuel costs low, minimizing wear and tear, and being able to make necessary repairs are additional important factors for profitable farming.

Catros+ disc –for more thorough mixing

What sets the serrated, 20 in (510 mm) diameter Catros+ discs apart is their ability to break up even the toughest soil and achieve more consistent penetration - even under difficult conditions. The optimum operational range of these discs encompasses stubble tillage, seedbed preparation, and the incorporation of cover crop residues.

  • Working depths from 2 to 5.5 in (5 to 14 cm)
  • Disc thickness 0.2 in (5 mm) / disc diameter 20 in (510 mm) / fine or coarse serrated
  • Universal use for more intensive incorporation
  • More aggressive operation
  • Incorporation of organic fertilizers

No lubrication ever again – thanks to the maintenance-free disc bearings

With no need to lubricate the disc bearings, overall maintenance time is greatly reduced. Face seals have been used in road construction for decades. Equipment where rollers on the running gear of caterpillar-tracked vehicles have to be effectively sealed and work with complete reliability under the toughest of operational conditions.

The benefits

  • Maintenance-free disc bearings with face seals and lifelong lubrication
  • Maintenance-free overload protection offered by rubber spring elements
  • Individual disc suspension for optimized contour following and excellent throughput

  1. 2-row angular contact ball bearing
  2. 2 x seal ring (O-Ring)
  3. 2 x cast rings with face seal
  4. Face seal built into conical seats
  5. Gear oil filled housing
  6. Proven 1,000,000 times over!

Aggressively angled discs

The Catros+ and CatrosXL discs are mounted especially aggressive with an angle of 17° for the front row of discs and 14° for the rear row of discs. This ensures a smooth transfer of the soil/organic matter mix from the first to the second row of discs for first-class mixing of soil and plant material. Compared with flat angled discs, the discharge angle in this aggressive disc arrangement is noticeably smaller. This ensures that the cultivated soil/organic matter mix is redeposited on the soil surface well ahead of the rear roller.

  • The slotted holes can be utilized to adjust the depth of the outer discs to ensure clean join-up between one pass and the next.

Perfect – individually suspended discs

On all models, be it a Catros+, CatrosXL or Certos, each individual disc is suspended from the frame by elastic rubber buffer blocks. This offers a huge advantage over machines with a rigid disc suspension, since each concave disc can individually follow the contours of the soil. In particular, this means that wheel tracks are not simply filled in, but worked intensively. This makes for consistent shallow tillage, even if the soil surface is uneven. At the same time, individual disc suspension increases throughput by allowing large amounts of organic matter to pass through optimally, which is a huge advantage over machines where the discs are mounted in pairs.

Reliable and absolutely maintenance-free!

The disc suspension mechanism includes elastic sprung rubber buffer blocks that ensure optimum contour movement while also acting as overload safety protection for each disc. The large rubber buffers are maintenance-free and feature considerable spring deflection to keep worries to a minimum even when working in stony fields.
